Product Owner Madurity Levels

Five Product Owner maturity levels

Do you know the maturity levels that the Product Owner can have within organizations?

  • Scribe, which only inserts what the customer says in the backlog, found in organizations that have not adopted yet the agile methodology;

  • Proxy, a bridges between the stakeholder and the Development Team without much authority;

  • Business Representative, who has business knowledge and a higher level of authority than the previous, but does not own the budget;

  • Sponsor, is the owner of the budget, has authority to make all decisions about the product backlog;

  • Entrepreneur, is responsible for managing the product in all dimensions, creates the product, puts it on the market and generates value for the organization, has complete authority over the product.
